Marsha Jean Lester Ferreira

Marsha Jean Lester Ferreira got her wings and went to walk with the angels on Friday, April 7, 2023, after a long battle with many illnesses including Myasthenia Gravis and Lupus. She was 49 years old.

It would be wrong to say that Marsha lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to enjoy her life to the fullest possible, including enjoying traveling to destinations around the world. When many others would have broken, Marsha stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Marsha. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

Marsha loved fiercely and always saw the good in everyone. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. Above all, she loved being a Mom and Nana. Marsha was the biological mother of four children, but many people considered her their surrogate mother.

She was born in Welch, West Virginia on April 24, 1973, the daughter of the late Donald and Lola Joan Lester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Brian Lester and Chucky Sisk.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Jose Manuel Ferreira; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Tyler Storm Cresong and Tarissa Cresong; daughter, Destyne Taylor Starr Cresong; son, Jericho Tristan Stone Cresong; daughter, Bella Savanna Raine Ferreira; brother, Dean Hall; aunt, Jackie Bishop; and grandchildren, Wynter Cresong, Paisley Cresong, Grayson Cresong, and one on the way, Elizabeth Cresong.

The family will have a viewing from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. A Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 PM followed by a reception, also at the funeral home. All are welcome to share stories and celebrate Marsha’s life.
