Mary Elizabeth Oates Moore

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Oates Moore, 84, of Charlotte, NC died Thursday May 19, 2011 at her residence. Born November 23, 1926 in Catawba County she was a daughter of the late Thomas Leroy Oates and Ida Mary McSwain Oates. Mrs. Moore was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church and employed with Eastern Airlines for 22 years prior to retirement. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23 at Homestead United Methodist Church with Rev. Alexis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ernest Lee Moore; son, John Thomas Moore and wife Cari of Atlanta; grandchildren, William Tavish and Kelsie Leigh Moore; sisters, Dorsie White, Thelma Tomlinson, Virginia Oates, Sylvia Jean McSwain; brother, John James Oates and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Marie Moore Deal; sister, Maggie Miller and brother, Thomas W Oates.
