Michael F. Cavaliere, a beloved retired individual who brought joy and laughter into countless lives, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023. Born on August 1, 1926, in Long Island City, NY, he leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable memories and cherished moments.
After dedicating many years of his life to his career, Michael retired at the young age of 55 in 1982 from the City of New York in the department of Hospitals. This allowed him to embark on a new chapter filled with adventures and activities that truly showcased his fun-loving spirit.
Despite the passing years, Christmas remained the most treasured time for Michael and his family. The memories created during these festivities will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Whether it was decorating the tree, exchanging gifts, or sharing laughter around the dinner table, Michael's presence uplifted every holiday season.
Known for his vibrant and outgoing personality, Michael was everybody's friend. He had an endearing habit of affectionately addressing others as "baby doll" or "pineapple," spreading warmth and cheer wherever he went. His magnetic charm and genuine care for others earned him an extensive network of friends who will deeply miss his infectious laughter and delightful conversations.
During World War II, Michael bravely served in the Navy and spent his time stationed in England. His military service was a testament to his courage and dedication to protecting his country.
Besides his professional achievements and military service, Michael possessed remarkable talent as a furniture maker. He lovingly crafted all kinds of furniture for his daughters, showcasing not only his skill but also the depth of love he had for them.
One of Michael's proudest accomplishments was serving as the President of Farmingdale Villas. He took great pleasure in organizing fun parties that kept everyone entertained and planning exciting trips to the casino that filled their days with excitement. With his impeccable organizational skills and zest for life, Michael ensured that every gathering was an unforgettable experience for all.
Michael's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Catherine Cavaliere, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His daughters, Annette Sideri and Maria Cavaliere predeed him in death. Also survived by his daughter, Catherine Marconi and husband Henry Marconi, and son in law Frank Sideri.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest at the St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
Michael F. Cavaliere brought immense joy to everyone he encountered throughout his journey in this world. He will be remembered as a beacon of light, an eternal optimist, and a true friend.
