Nancy "Nan" Louise Ennis

June 21, 1939 — December 3, 2021

The Rev Nancy always knew that love was a continuous flow of energy permeating space. So one day recently she simply joined the flux and ceased to suffer with Alzheimer's. Nothing appeared in the great telescopes of earth or space, but those of us who knew her believe we experienced a nova, bright and lingering.
She is honored by her loving family of Dawn, Mike, John and Kelley.  And I, as always, am The Rev Nancy's Husband, possibly the worst minister's husband of all time.
You will see nan now in brighter sunrises and a vibrant increase in healing and insight. Simply look at a kitten or a rainbow and you will stand by her side. She and I cuddled at the Golden Arches, she munching french fries and me reading the Wall Street Journal, scrunched up in warmth. And when we came back from camping at Wiseman's view (and a trooper she was) there would often be a huge double rainbow over Morganton. We would stop in awe. I was of course marveling at the diffraction of the light in the spherical water drops and she was seeing a starburst of revelation and healing in a cascade of colors. Of course we were both right. As her minister Jonathan Allen told me,"It took the two of us to clean the plate."
Support hospice (wow) but also look at a writing spider or look at the stars and absolutely go get some french fries and join her cometary tail.

As i was always known,
 The Rev Nancy's Husband

Rays and Spheres
When a rainbow decides to organize itself
the gyrating dots of water form themselves into perfect spheres
and the rays of light  from the center of the big bang
take aim to meet their watery companions.
The spheres and the photons sing their primordial song
till the luminous little fellows cascade into the drops.
Just then Nan reaches out her vibrant fingers
and molds the rays and water into an arch
unleashing the peacock's tail of color
that bypasses our reason
and sings in our hearts.
