Davidson

Pamela Lee Breeckner, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 13, 2026. Known to all as Pam, she was the devoted wife of 42 years to Douglas Breeckner, the loving mother to her daughter Lee Buchmann (Paul), and the proud grandmother to Grant, Reid, and Ella, three grandchildren she adored with all her heart.

Pam was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on August 20, 1943, the daughter of Gene Pierson Brimson and Vertrees Wilson Lee, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Ripley, Tennessee before moving to Memphis, Tennessee in junior high school, attended Central High School and went on to earn her degree from Memphis State University. She began her career as a teacher and earned a master’s degree in Business Administration before transitioning into Human Resources at Chevron in San Francisco, California in the early 1980s. She returned to Memphis and spent most of her career at International Paper Company, where she excelled and made many meaningful contributions before her retirement in 2011.

Pam loved Memphis and had a deep appreciation for its music and rich culture. She shared many wonderful weekends on the water with Doug, Lee and a whole host of friends at Heber Springs, Arkansas, sailing aboard their boat, Hotel California. Pam and Doug were passionate travelers, building a lifetime of cherished memories on trips to California, the Northeast, and Europe. Pam and Doug moved to Davidson, North Carolina in 2012 and made many cherished friendships. Pam will be remembered for her kindness and the ways she made the lives of those around her better simply by being in them.

A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Davidson, North Carolina on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow at St. Alban’s. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Memorial Fund St. Alban’s Episcopal Church where Pam was a member and served on the vestry.
