Patricia Kerbein

September 12, 1939 — August 28, 2022

Patricia Kerbein passed away peacefully August 28, 2022 in Charlotte, NC after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

Born September 12, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Goodwin of Horseheads, New York. In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, James Kerbein of Elmira, New York and brother, Richard Goodwin of Ronkonkoma, New York.

Patricia is survived by her son Patrick Flaherty of Charlotte, NC; granddaughters, Jordan Flaherty of Charlotte, NC and Madison Flaherty of Raleigh, NC; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Irene Goodwin of Greece, New York.

Patricia Kerbein lived a life of service as a Registered Nurse, most notably as Head Nurse of I.V. Therapy at Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira for decades.  In later years, she was a Home Health Nurse in Northern PA.  She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn, New York.  She was also an active officer in the local Lion's Club and had a long-standing hobby of raising and showing purebred dogs.  She was also a fantastic cook.  Alzheimer's took away a vibrant mind...it is a terrible disease.

A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at 10:00am in Elmira, NY on Friday, September 9, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, NY 14901.  Her final resting place will be at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Elmira, New York.
