Patricia Ruth Provost

Patricia Mellen Provost, of Charlotte, NC passed away on February 22, 2022. She was born in Springfield, MA on August 22, 1933 to the late Robert Mellen and Ruth Hall Mellen. 

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Hunsucker, and brother, Kirk Mellen. 

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Andy Provost; sister, Katie Peercy; daughter, Sharon (John) Henning; son, Kevin Loomis (Ronnie Sue); daughter, Valerie Olszyk; grandchildren,  Caitlin Hunter (Andy), Sean Henning (Meg), Natasha (Rich Cush) Loomis,  Daniel Loomis, and Kassidy Olszyk. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Drew Hunter, Caleb Henning, and Kate Henning.

Patricia  loved playing bridge, card games, Golf, skiing, tennis, cross country skiing, boogie boarding,  dancing the Foxtrot and the Hustle, flowers, gardening, crafts, playing piano and making lists. She was an amazing cook, known for hosting great parties and being social with friends, but she also enjoyed quiet times with a good book. She always kept her home warm and welcoming and made every holiday or birthday special with decorations and food and love.

Patricia worked to enhance her community with the League of Women Voters, PTA and individually to bring much needed improvements including a water tower and guard rail to her communities.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother.  She made the world of those around her better, warmer, and brighter, and will truly be missed by all that knew her. 

A Memorial Gathering is scheduled from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.
