Peggy Davis Kimmons, born on December 8, 1931, in Surry County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. A dedicated and compassionate spirit, Peggy spent her career as a Registered Nurse, where she provided care and comfort to individuals living with Alzheimer's disease. Her unwavering commitment to helping others was matched only by her profound sense of faith, which guided her throughout her life.

Peggy was known for her great sense of humor, quick wit, and love for a good play on words. She had a unique ability to find the good in everyone she encountered, treating them all with grace and patience. Her gentle spirit was a source of comfort to family and friends alike, fostering deep bonds and cherished memories. Peggy’s joy for life was infectious, and she delighted in laughter, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere wherever she went.

Possessing a love for family, Peggy’s heart was filled with fond memories that she kept close, often marking important moments in her cherished Bible. She was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling with her husband, with one of her favorite adventures being an Alaskan cruise.

Peggy is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Tonna and Neal Painter; her grandchildren, Chesley Oxendine, Isaac Oxendine, Amanda Oxendine and husband Chad Webb, Joshua Painter and wife Diana Rizo, Haley Kinser and husband William Kinser Jr., and Kelsey Painter; and her great-grandchildren, Cayden Oxendine, Caleb Webb, Isabella Webb, Emma Painter, Luka Painter, Tripp Kinser, and Daphne Kinser.

She joins in eternal rest her husband, James Allen Kimmons; father, Jesse Isaac Davis; her mother, Mallie Shelton Davis; her brother, Tommy Davis; her sister, Lillian Creed; and her daughter, Miriam Anne Oxendine.

Peggy Davis Kimmons will be remembered not just for her professional accomplishments, but for the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to resonate through her family and friends.
