Charlotte

Chase Pistone, 42, of Mooresville, NC passed away on March 2, 2026.

He was born in Charlotte, NC on August 20, 1983, to Leslie Berger and Pete Pistone.

Chase was loved and adored by many. He had a smile that would light up every room, a loving nature, a great sense of humor, and an innate talent for racing. He was handsome, charming, tech savvy, and had a strong work ethic. He spent most of his time in the race shop or at a racetrack, where his talents were always on full display. He was a talented driver and brilliant as a Crew Chief and team owner. His business, CPinc led way to a chosen family in racing that shared numerous moments in the winner’s circle. Chase was a mentor to many and valued sharing his love for racing and pouring into the next generation of racers.

Chase won the Summer Shootout Legend Championship four times as a driver between 1999-2005, with over 80 feature event wins in Legends, Late Model, and USAR competition. He competed in the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

He touched many lives throughout his time here. While he had an impressive racing career, his greatest joy in life was being a dad to his boys, Carter and Cameron. Chase was an incredible father. He loved his boys more than anything in this world. They shared a love for building Lego sets and had an entire Lego land in their garage. He loved sharing his love of racing with them and they were often right by his side in the shop or at the track. Carter and Cameron motivated Chase to lead by example and push even harder in life.

He is survived by his mom, Leslie (Lance); dad, Pete; grandmother, Sandra; grandfather Tom; brothers, Tom (Phaedra), Pete (Loren), Nick, Chip (Karen), Tom (DeeDee); sister, Courtney; and his sons, Carter and Cameron. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Blaine, Ayden, Anyston, Brecken, Blaze, Cash, Kace, Kennedy, Collins, Jessica, Justin, and Trevor, as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Hayes and grandmother, Crystal Pistone.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 4-8pm at Boatyard Eats in Cornelius, NC.
