Philip George Eigenbauer

Philip George Eigenbauer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Concord, North Carolina, at the age of 85. Born on November 1, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, Philip cherished his faith, family, sports, and the joys of life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Georgiana Eigenbauer, with whom he shared a wonderful life filled with love and laughter. He was a proud parent to his children: Gina Tatro and her husband James, along with their daughters, Abigayle and Jacalyn; Mark Eigenbauer and his wife Susan, with their children, Isabel and Aaron; and daughter Jill Oakley, who is blessed with daughters Angelique, Marissa, and Joslyn. Philip also leaves behind his sister, Marie Jacobs, who shares in the sorrow of his passing. His legacy will continue through the hearts of his family, who will forever remember his warm spirit and loving nature.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gertrude Eigenbauer; his stepmother, Emma; and his siblings: sisters Dorothy and Carolyn and brothers Robert and Edward.

Philip was an avid sports fan, particularly as a dedicated fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed serving his country and community as a veteran and as a village trustee. His passion was playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He cultivated a close-knit family that will cherish their memories of him, and his proudest accomplishments were his roles as a loving father and grandfather.

His work as an accountant and business consultant were also important to him, and he continued to faithfully serve his clients until his passing.

His wit and sense of humor will be profoundly missed yet always remembered by those he loved. Philip George Eigenbauer was a remarkable man, whose impact on his family and friends will resonate for generations to come.

The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Phil to a visitation honoring his life at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078 from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, May 29th.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th at 11:00am at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Rd, Huntersville, NC. All are invited to join us for a luncheon following the funeral.
