Raymund Joseph Bischoff

Raymund Bischoff, 81, of Cornelius, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

A man of honor, excellence, and integrity, Raymund was born in Bonn, Germany, to the late Hildegarde Maria Bischoff and Paul Helmut Bischoff. He grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, graduating first in his MBA class and swimming on the South African national team. Raymund and his wife, Joan, immigrated to the United States, where he was the proud father of their two children, Ashley and Adrian, and a doting opa to his two grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Raymund was a devoted husband to Joan and a generous host. He was a brilliant businessperson, well known for his elephantine memory and reputed to carry present-value tables in his head. He was also a loyal friend, diligently remembering and calling for dozens of birthdays and anniversaries each year and treasuring his sixty-year friendships.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Winfried Bischoff. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his daughter, Ashley; his son, Adrian; his daughter-in-law, Margaret; and his grandchildren, Oliver and Islay.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, North Carolina on Friday, July 31st at 11 am.
