Richard “Dick” Zimmerman passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, with his family by his side. His wife, Sue, held his hand as he peacefully graduated from this life and began his next adventure.
Dick was born in NYC. He grew up in Woodmere, Long Island with his parents, Leonard and Lucile, and his sisters, Audrey and Wendy.
He graduated from Lehigh University and joined his father in the clothing business, excelling in sportswear sales.
Dick was a proud “Shmata” man—an affectionate term for salesmen in the women’s apparel industry. He excelled in his career and became highly respected and well known throughout the national apparel sales community. He was elected chairman to represent the Florida Women’s Clothing industry lobbying in Washington on behalf of his fellow sales representatives.
Outside of work, , Dick loved watching FSU football. He was a devoted Seminole fan through and through. Go Noles!
Dick’s greatest accomplishment was the life he built with Sue, his best friend and the love of his life. They shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, creating a family and a lifetime of memories together.
Dick is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Steven (Cyndi), Robin (Ramone), and Matthew (Tara); and his six grandchildren, Seth, Lyla, Michael, Kevin, Bella, and Jack.
Dick was a good man who lived an incredible, full life. He was deeply loved, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to care for the Zimmerman family.
