In Loving Memory of Robert "Bob" Shephard
June 17, 1953 – May 27, 2025
Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a life full of deep devotion to family, loyal friendships, and countless shared laughs.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Carol Ann Shephard (Gehring), with whom he built a life of unwavering love and partnership. A devoted and loving father, Bob is remembered fondly by his daughter Susan (John Ferrannini). He was predeceased by his beloved son Jason (Joanne), whose memory he carried closely in his heart.
Bob was a cherished grandfather to Victoria, Charlotte, and Dominic Ferrannini, and to Isabella, Stephanie, Ari, and Easton Shephard. His legacy continues through them, in their kindness, humor, and resilience. They carry with them the wisdom their grandfather taught them.
He is also survived by his brother William and sister Sandra. In addition to his son Jason, Bob was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth, and his dear sister, Susan.
Throughout his life, Bob cultivated friendships that became like family—bonds that lasted decades and were a source of joy and strength. His compassion extended beyond people; he never met a dog he didn’t love. Known for always carrying dog biscuits in his pocket, Bob’s gentle heart touched many furry companions as well.
A fan of hockey and NASCAR, Bob found excitement and joy in the roar of the engines and the thrill of the track. He dabbled in racing himself and never missed a race when Jason was serving as crew chief—those were moments of immense pride for him.
Bob’s warmth, sarcastic humor, and deep loyalty leave an unfading mark on all who knew him. His presence will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
A private service will be held by the family.
