Roberto Vazquez, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. Born on April 18, 1945, in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, Roberto lived a life marked by commitment, hard work, and love for those around him.
Roberto’s career reflected a steadfast dedication to service and excellence. Beginning in 1963, he worked with Royal Business (Konica) where he devoted 22 years before retiring in 1985. That same year, he embarked on a new chapter as a Dine Air Supervisor at JFK Airport. His leadership and dedication were evident as he rose to serve as the Terminal 1 manager until his retirement in 2007. Yet, his service to the community did not end there. In a unique turn, he was "voluntold" to become a school bus driver, a role he embraced wholeheartedly until 2022. The children he transported were deeply fond of him, a testament to his warm and caring nature. He also donated Blood and Platelets or more than 60 years!
One of Roberto’s proudest accomplishments was his enduring marriage to his high school sweetheart, Angeles Vazquez. Together, they shared 64 years of love and companionship, raising a wonderful family. They were blessed with four children: Angie, Roberto, David, & Sophia. Their legacy extended further through eight grandchildren—Nicole, Monica, David, Joseph, John, Christian, Christopher & Gabriella—and a cherished great-grandson, Harver.
Roberto was born to Juan Maria Vazquez Santiago and Felicita Soto, who predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angeles; his children; his grandchildren; and his great-grandson. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Crucelina, Lucia, Maria, Carmen and Carmen, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Roberto Vazquez's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him. His unwavering commitment to his family and community leaves an indelible mark that will be cherished for generations.
