Dr. Samuel Paul Winokur

Samuel Paul Winokur, M.D., 83, died on Dec. 1, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey and brother Stanley. Survivors include his wife Montyne, daughters Rebecca Coggins (Kevin), Stacey Hart (Jon), and Elizabeth Winokur (James), six beloved grandchildren, daughter-in-law Jennifer Daffer, and sister Ronna Nitzsky. 

Paul grew up in New Orleans and attended Isidore Newman School, Tulane University, and LSU School of Medicine. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he and his family moved to the West Palm Beach area, where he practiced thoracic surgery for over 40 years. Upon retiring, he moved to Davidson, North Carolina to be near his family.

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region or First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville.
