Sara Alvarado Torres

Sara Alvarado Torres, 86, of Huntersville, NC passed away on September 25, 2021. She was born on September 23, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Emilio Alvarado and Carmen Torres.

Sara is survived by her children, Jose A. Munoz Alvarado, Sari Elaine Munoz Alvarado, Carin Marisa Munoz; grandchildren, Christopher E. Critchfield Munoz, and Christian Fabian Rizzi Munoz. She is also survived by her sisters, Elga and Lourdes and brothers, Julio, Luis, and Edwardo.

Sara graduated from Catholic University of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She worked at the National Packing Co, The Julio Alvarado Foundation, a family nonprofit organization that served the disable through Music Therapy Services, and The Geriatrics Center of La Playa de Ponce.

Sara had a wonderful sense of humor, her beautiful smile and positive attitude was contagious. Her love for Lord was obvious to everyone around her. Her greatest joy was to spend daily time reading, studying the word of God.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.
