Scott Werner unexpectedly passed away in his sleep at the age of 54 in his Huntersville residence on May 18, 2026.
Scott was the kind of husband and father who selflessly served his family and community. He crafted a work schedule that allowed him to be home early to spend time with his boys, Miles and Oscar, made a home cooked meal every night, and kept a clean, beautifully run home. He gladly did these things so his wife, Mihaela, would be free to pursue her career passions. He adored his dog, Gus. Scott loved using his gift of playing music to honor the Lord, something he enjoyed and excelled at. There really wasn't much Scott couldn't do. He was an amazing carpenter, handyman, cook, printer, and musician to name a few. He never hesitated to use those gifts to help others.
Scott leaves behind his wife Mihaela; sons, Miles and Oscar; parents, Barb and Jack Werner; sister, Dee Werner; nephew, Harrison; and his dog, Gus.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 29, 2026 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville. A reception will follow the memorial service from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Scott never dressed up. He was a t-shirt and shorts or jeans kind of guy. In his honor, his family asks that attendees come dressed in casual clothes.
