Dear Family and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Shawn Everett Jackson, Sr., on February 9, 2026. A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, and fraternity brother, Shawn was born in Houston, Texas. He was a loving husband to his wife, Kenya (Bennett), for over 25 years and a dedicated father to their son, Shawn Jr. (SJ), affectionately calling them the “Total Package.”
Shawn gave his life to Christ at an early age and truly loved the Lord. Known for breaking into song at a moment’s notice, he had a unique gift for making everyone he met feel like the most important person in the room.
Professionally, Shawn excelled as a sales executive in the retail and service industries for over two decades, earning numerous awards. Despite his professional success, his primary focus remained providing for and caring for his family. His kindness, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm made him the "favorite uncle" to many nieces and nephews. He found joy in watching sports, listening to R&B and Gospel music, grilling, and sharing stories with those he loved.
As a dedicated member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Shawn (SIXX DAWG) upheld the principles of the brotherhood and will forever be remembered for creating the Phi Eta Chapter Hop.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his beloved mother, Mildred Jackson, his siblings, Chris and Deandrea, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of life to honor his legacy at a later date.
We love you, Shawn Everett Jackson, Sr. Your heart, love, and dedication will forever be remembered and cherished. Take your rest now.
Love,
Total Package
