Stacey Carol Ballard Turrentine, 49, of Huntersville, NC passed away on August 18, 2019. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was born on September 17, 1969 to Wayne Harding Ballard and Carol Davis Ballard. She was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School in 1987 and Wingate University 1991.
Stacey was a beautiful and wonderful Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend and Teammate. Her spirit of helping others was spotlighted in many areas. Whether it was leading a sports banquet, being a team Mom, volunteering at her sons' events or playing an even bigger role in changing the lives of young children from Belarus who have grown to be successful in life within the United States. Stacey touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Turrentine; sons, Kendall (16 years old) and Charlie (9 years old); parents, Carol and Wayne Ballard; brother, Clint Ballard; niece, Caroline Ballard, nephew, Cooper Ballard; brother-in-law, Ashley Thomas; nephews, Ryan and Matt Thomas; and her special family member, Ivan (Vayna) Bocharenko.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy Davis and Kathryn Hartz Davis; and her paternal grandparents, Ray and Doris Ballard.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Lake Forest Church, 8519 Gilead Road, Huntersville, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm in the Worship Center at Lake Forest Church. Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius, followed by a reception at Lake Forest Church.
Memorial donations may be made via check to Hopewell High School Athletic Department, 11530 Beatties Ford Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078 in memory of Stacey Turrentine.
