Sterling Lemmond

Sterling Lee Lemmond, 81, of Huntersville, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born in Charlotte on June 9, 1941, the son of the late Cyrus Lee Lemmond and Beatrice Mary Hoover Lemmond.

Sterling was a charter member of Northdale Baptist Church and was known for checking in on his fellow Church members and ensuring everyone who needed it was added to the prayer list. His many hobbies included fishing, watching sports, especially baseball, and singing; he also had a passion for music. Many will miss his yearly phone calls wishing them a happy birthday or anniversary, and singing to them, which he did faithfully.

Sterling is survived by his brothers, Tom Lemmond, Bruce Lemmond, and Al Lemmond; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Anna and Ava.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, 1:30 PM, at Northdale Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:15 – 1:15 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte.
