Steven Brusko

July 13, 1967 — May 7, 2021

Steven Brusko, 53, of Mecklenburg County, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 7th, 2021 while mountain biking on his favorite trails.

Mr. Brusko was born in Johnstown, PA on July 13, 1967, and is the son of Francis Brusko and the late Jane Schuck.

Steve, a long-time resident in the greater Mecklenburg county area, enjoyed a long successful career in the home building industry. Steve had a passion cycling, fishing, and kayaking and generally loved being outdoors. He enjoyed reading and learning about History and being with friends and family around the bonfire. He and his daughter shared hikes to some of their favorite spots including Grandfather Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his mother Jane.

Surviving are his children; Hannah Brusko, the light of his life, and his son Nathaniel Brusko; his Partner Julie Liles, whom he loved dearly. His father Francis Brusko, his brother Bernie Brusko (wife Colleen), Michael Brusko (wife Lucie), Sister, Kathy Kupchella (husband Greg), and brother, Thomas Brusko (wife Cerise), and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC, with a visitation taking place prior between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.
