Steven Michael Hendrix, of Huntersville, NC passed away quietly on June 15, 2026.
Michael was born in Aiken, SC on May 21, 1969 to Hasting Eugene “Gene” Hendrix and Nancy Elaine Hall Hendrix.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Maria Lynn Phillips Hendrix; son, Jason Adam; daughter, Jennifer Erin; and his brother, Christopher Mark Hendrix (Linda) of Newberry, SC.
Michael graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1993.
Michael worked at Lowes Home Improvement Headquarters in Mooresville, NC as Senior Manager of Corporate Communications. During his time with Lowes, Michael won many awards, including a gold Telly for his video productions. Michael won an Emmy from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his work producing the “Dead Sea Scrolls: 100 Days in Charlotte”.
He was an avid follower of Carolina Gamecocks football, Carolina Panthers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins, never missing a game. He loved taking his wife, son, and daughter to 1980s “hair band” concerts, traveling the country to attend together. Michael was proud to watch his son Jason as he started a career at Delta Air Lines and his daughter achieve high honors in her medical courses at Central Piedmont.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, NC followed by a private interment.
