The stars of heaven shone a little brighter on August 11, 2023, as Susan Jordan White joined her Lord, Jesus Christ, in her heavenly home. The bigger the life, the brighter and faster it burns.
Susan was born in Wilmington, NC, on August 24, 1972, to Tim and Beth Russ Jordan. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 21 years, Eric Braxton White, and her beautiful twin daughters, Jordan and Meghan. Susan is also survived by her parents, Tim and Beth Jordan; her sister Laura Leonard (Lenny); and her nieces, Abigail and Ella Grace. There are also many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Susan grew up in Burgaw, NC, and went to Pender Academy from Kindergarten through graduation in 1990. Afterwards, she attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, getting her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
In 2001, Eric and Susan settled down in Huntersville NC, where they shared a loving home for over 20 years. Eric asked for two kids before he was 35. She delivered twins on January 18th, 2004- - Mission complete, she would say! She worked for Sam Terres Law for 20 years, while also running her own business with Eric, entitled S & E Logo Promotions. She ensured her husband and girls were loved and her daughters were fully prepared for life. She was never still very long.If she wasn’t taking the girls to school, dance or volleyball practice, she was hanging out with the many close friends she made over the years.
From the day she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she fought with the most valiant efforts making sure her husband and daughters did not miss out on one single thing due to her illness. Whether Susan was dancing, shopping, talking, laughing her infamous and infectious laugh, or just listening, she was wholeheartedly giving of herself. Everyone who ever met her was better for having known her.
As she transitions into the next beautiful phase of her life, Susan is pain free, but our grief is immeasurable. Susan White was an inspiration and meant so much to so many, as a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter and sister, a precious friend to many people and finally a warrior till the end. She liked to speak of friends as chapters in her book; she has been a chapter in so many books that we all count ourselves as blessed.
Arrangements: There will be a Celebration of Susan at Burgaw Baptist Church on August 27th at 3:30 pm for friends and family. The address of the church is 110 E. Bridgers Street, Burgaw, NC. There will be a Celebration of Life in Huntersville, NC at a date to be determined.
