Talmadge Bryson Bridges, Jr., 81 of Huntersville, NC, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024.

Talmadge, also known as T.B., and called Bryson by his family, was born on August 6, 1943, in Inman, SC near Spartanburg. His parents were the late Talmadge Bryson Bridges and Elizabeth Sarah Couch Bridges.

He was a devoted husband, father, leader and friend who endeared many who he met through his many years.

Talmadge met his wife, Inge Bridges, in Munich, Germany while he was stationed there with the US Army. Together, they moved to the United States, settling in North Carolina, and frequently visiting their beloved Carolina beaches. They loved each other and depended on each other for over 60 years. They traveled together, cared for their family and were inseparable. They were each other's strong caregivers. They took great care of each other through sickness and health. He had suffered many falls over the years and she helped mend him back together many times. He helped her remember and remain healthy for many years until late this summer. Inge passed away recently on August 26 and this greatly impacted him. Sadly he steadily declined into a frail state after her death. Hospice care and his family provided him the best support and help during his challenging last days.

He graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1961 and soon enlisted in the US Army. After earning a degree in Criminal Justice from CPCC in 1969, he had a successful law enforcement career. He served as a Charlotte policeman, Military Police in the US Army & Army Reserve, for which he received the Army Commendation Medal in 1978. Additionally, he taught law enforcement courses at CPCC and worked with the NC Department of Corrections, ending his career as the director of security for hospitals in Charlotte and Monroe.

Talmadge, the youngest of 10, is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children Caroline Brigitte Bridges and Talmadge Michael Bridges, siblings Josephine Tillman and Peggy Christian, and grandchildren Logan Roach, Joshua Roach, Elizabeth Bridges, and Michael Bridges.

A private Celebration of Life will be held with his family.
