Terry Carithers, 75, of Huntersville, NC, passed away on May 21, 2026.
Terry was born in Kannapolis, NC, on October 8, 1950, to the late Norma and Hoyt Carithers.
A proud US Navy veteran, Terry served during the Vietnam War. He will be remembered for his bravery, resilience, and larger-than-life spirit. Terry loved cheering on the Tar Heels and Panthers, playing golf, fishing, and jamming out to Jimmy Buffett.
Along with his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Carithers, and his brother, Michael Carithers. His heavenly family will be excited to welcome him back to his cosmic home.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Carithers; his daughter, Melody Bistok; his son, Bradley Songer; his son-in-law, Tyler Bistok; and his grandchildren, Faith and Zachariah Carithers.
A private celebration of Terry’s beautiful life will be held in late summer or early fall of 2026 to honor him the way he would have wanted – with good food, those he loved, and plenty of laughter as we share stories and travel back in time to remember all the wonderful memories he gave us.
We will forever cherish Terry’s quick wit, playful sarcasm, infectious energy, and remarkable sense of humor. He was smart, generous, authentic to his core, and never filtered who he was.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which honors and supports our nation’s veterans, first responders, and wounded heroes. This mission held special meaning for Terry, whose exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War affected his mobility in later years. Despite these challenges, he remained joyful, kind, and resilient, facing each day with strength and grace.
