Tillie Mae Griffin

Tillie Mae Griffin, 85, of Huntersville, NC passed away on March 15, 2020 surrounded by her daughter Cynthia Griffin and granddaughter Kadiedra Hagadorn.
Tillie was born in Isle of Wight, VA on December 28, 1934 to the late Novella Beale and Fletcher Beale.
Tillie was a loving mother to her children and other family members, and a trailblazing nurse that cared for the earliest victims of the AIDS virus. She dedicated her life to caring for the patients she served as well as their families. An avid gardener, she enjoyed sharing all she harvested.
Tillie also loved her chewing gum, country music, westerns, and most of all Southern gospel.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Griffin, Sr; grandson Hussein Freeman; and siblings, Frank Beale, Joseph Beale, Lee Beale, Doris Beale, Virgie Lee Beale and Arbadella Beale .
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Griffin and Lucille Griffin; sons, Richard Griffin Jr. George W. Buford III and Clayton E. Beale; Sister Lucille B. Lewis, and a host of grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 2:30.
