Timothy Edgar Roberts

Timothy Edgar Roberts of Huntersville, NC, passed away on March 17, 2026 after valiantly battling Parkinson's Disease for 22 years.

He was born at home in Lenoir, NC on February 5, 1942, to the late James Edgar Roberts and Eva Juanita Roberts.

Along with his parents, Tim is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Karen Ruff Roberts, Sister-in-Law Joyce Ruff, Brother-in-Law Harold Smith and Brother and Sister-in-Law Wallace Edward and Betty Dillard Ruff.

Tim is survived by his daughter, April (Dan) Demers, granddaughter & great-granddaughter Aaren & Evalyn, son-in-law William (Mary) Boggs, and his five siblings, Joann Roberts, Carolyn Smith, Larry (Diane) Roberts, Elayne (Bobby) Eldreth, and Rick (Linda) Roberts, Sister-in-law Ruth (Don) Love, Brother-in-law S. Eugene Ruff and many members of his extended family.

Tim was a master electrician & owned Dixie Wiring, Inc. for over 30 years.

A Celebration of Life, lead by April, Aaren, & Evalyn, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 25, at Union Baptist Church, 4595 Union Baptist Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645. Feel free to dress casual and wear jeans and boots if you would like. They were Tim’s everyday attire…until Parkinson’s took its toll. He didn’t like to “Dress up” and would want you to be comfortable! Please come prepared to share a sentimental or funny story about Tim.

At approximately 4:00 (Immediately following the Celebration of Life ceremony), a graveside service will take place at Bethel Advent Church, 1595 Draco Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.

From Union Baptist Church, Tim will take one last ride in his beloved 1965 Chevy Impala, driven by “The son he never had,” Eric Swanger (and accompanied by April, Aaren, Evalyn and Dan) up Draco Road to his final resting place. He bought the car brand new after serving in the Army. Tim considered it a great honor to serve in the 82nd Airborne Division.

Following the graveside service, we hope you will meet us at Sim's Country BBQ to enjoy Tim's favorite meal. Barbeque! Doors open at 5:00 PM. Simscountrybbq.com Sim's is located at 6160 Petra Mill Rd. Granite Falls, NC. Meals are $16 for adults and $8 for kids ages 4-11 and payment is CASH ONLY at the door.

For those who wish to have flowers delivered, please have them delivered on Sat, April 25, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM only, at Union Baptist Church.

Many of you have been asking about how and where to send flowers. I found a local florist that will take orders and deliver them all in one delivery at 11:30 on the day of the Celebration of Life.
