Tommy Kaye Robinette

TK Robinette passed away on December 29, 2022, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. 

TK was born on May 19,1942 to Violet and Muriel Robinette in Mooresville, NC. He married Mary on November 19,1967 and they shared a lifetime of sweet friendship and good times. 

TK is survived by his wife Mary, son and daughter in law Clay and Angie Robinette, daughter and son in law Ellyn and Gavin Hart, and grandkids Carson, Colby, and Cooper Robinette, and Charlotte and Luke Hart. Surviving siblings are Jean White, Butch Robinette, and Mack Robinette. 

TK leaves behind a legacy of kindness, respect and compassion for others, and a true love of life. His infectious grin really shined on the dance floor, especially when dancing with Mary. He devoted many years of his life to teaching and sharing his love for the shag dance. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was an amazing Pop to his grandkids. 

Memorial service will be held at Torrence Chapel AME Zion Church on Monday January 2. Visitation begins at 10:30, and funeral will follow at 12:00.
