Vernon Dale Jackson

August 6, 1943 — March 3, 2024

Hunersville

Vernon “Dale” Jackson, 80, of Huntersville, North Carolina passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 3, 2024.  Dale was born in Creighton, Nebraska on August 6, 1943 to the late Virgil and Irma Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patti Burdekin Snell Jackson, beloved son Torin Jackson, step-sons James Snell and Chad (Nicole) Snell and sister, Nancy (Larry) Furstenau.

Dale proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1966. He was stationed on the USS Fletcher (445) as a Radio Operator and enjoyed the lifelong friends he made in the Navy.  After his service, he attended the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, and earned a degree in Marketing Research. Dale was a lifelong Huskers fan. He was employed in Human Resources, initially with Famous Footwear and later with American Family Insurance, both headquartered in Madison, WI.  In 2005, he retired from the American Chiropractic Association in Arlington, VA.

Our hearts are broken to have lost this kind and gentle man who had an easy laugh and a cheerful smile for everyone.

A grave-site gathering with Military Honors will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sun Prairie, WI, on March 15th, 2024, at 11:00 am.  A live streaming event will take place at that time for those not in attendance.
