1958 Vickie 2024

Vickie Waggoner

January 13, 1958 — January 12, 2024

Vickie Reynolds Waggoner died January 12, 2024, one day shy of her 66th birthday at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Cornelius, NC very near her home in Huntersville NC. She was born in Charlotte, NC on January 13, 1958 to Ralph and Jackie Reynolds. She is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Lauren and husband Shawn and two twins age 11, Emerson and Landon of Simpsonville SC, and her son William III ‘Trace’ and Barbora ‘Baru’ Obracajova of Prague, Czech Republic where both live. She has two younger sisters Terri Helms and Teresa Looby. After battling health issues for many years initiated with a traumatic brain injury in 2014, she was unable to overcome unrelenting diminishing quality of life issues as time progressed where she slowly continued to decline until death.

She grew up in Charlotte, graduated Garringer HS in 1976, and moved to Davidson and Huntersville when she married in 1980. She lived in the area since. Some of the happiest times were when she was a stay-at-home Mom for about 20 years, beginning when the children were born. Although at the time money was not abundant it did not matter as she was the best mom and wife and loved both jobs. She lived on Lake Norman much of this time and loved having such a big back yard for all to enjoy. For some reason she had many summer time friends!

As the children aged and time passed, she volunteered in the large middle school, Francis Bradley, in Huntersville in the front office. She liked working there meeting so many people with the buzz of activity and was eventually hired full time in the later 2000’s where she worked until 2023. She especially liked the benefit of all summers off and enjoying her time off reading a book just about every day. In her position she knew many people in the area, having had contact with them through the years as one of the school secretaries. Her shopping trips were always longer and enjoyable, stopping to talk to the various parents she got to know along the way.

She did like trips to the mountains and, most of all, trips to the beach with the many family members she had over 30+ years. She loved beach walks and spending time just lounging on the beach, sometimes all day with family and later with her grandchildren. Earlier in life she liked to cross stitch and there are many tasteful examples of cross stitch artwork she made hanging in the house, with many given to friends as they became available. The Christmas holiday season was one of her favorite times and always enjoyed.
