Warren George Morton

August 3, 1932 — December 4, 2010

Warren George Morton Toodle 78 of Davidson, NC completed his journey on earth to Heaven at 3:40 am December 4, 2010 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Born August 3, 1932 in Oakboro, NC he was the 9th of 10 children to George and Rosa Morton who preceded him in death. He retired from Davey Tree Company July 1994 after 32 years of service and served proudly in the Marines for two years. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, loved his church, Community Baptist and all the people there. But most of all he loved his Lord. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday Dec 9, 2010 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. J. E. Speece and Rev Dick Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Raymer Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Betty Anderson Morton; sons, Dewayne and Donnie Morton; daughters, Sherrie Burgess and Kim Morton all of Albemarle; step-sons, Ricky, Gary and Doug Anderson; step-daughters, Vickie Howard (Jeff), Janet Anderson, Amy Alexander all of Davidson; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren all of Albemarle; 14 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren all of Davidson; brother, Hob Martin and sister, Carrie Lee (Lloyd) Gilbert of Oakboro. He is also survived by his favorite canine little buddy Lit Bet In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Arthur, Bruce, Vance, Ray Lemon, Bill and Reece Morton and one sister, Rachel Morton Little. The family request memorials be made to Community Baptist Church P. O. Box 202 Mt. Mourne NC 28123 (274 Langtree Road).
