DICKMAN, Wesley W., age 81, of Cornelius, N.C., and formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lake Toxaway, N.C. died on July 23, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 28, 1939, he attended The University of Miami and thereafter worked for fifty years in the pleasure boat industry rising to senior executive positions with Chris-Craft, Hatteras, Volvo-Penta, Wellcraft, Bertram and, ultimately,as founding and managing partner of Ferretti of America, Inc. After taking up residence in Lake Toxaway, he turned his efforts to real estate sales and was actively affiliated with Landmark Realty Group, L.L.C. until retirement. When able to overcome his overarching work ethic, he could be found ogling or owning antique wooden Chris-Craft boats or skippering more modern craft towing his grandchildren around Lake Toxaway.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Stodgell Dickman, son, Michael (Melissa) Dickman, son, Christopher (Patti) Dickman; and grandchildren, Lauren, Sam, Abigail, Taylor, Liam, Hale and Grey; and, his golden retriever, Mercy. A celebration of life will take place once it’s appropriate for groups of friends and family to gather and share stories and hugs.
