William Harold Cooper

William Harold Cooper, 81, of Davidson, NC passed away on March 18, 2023. Bill was born in Burnsville, NC February 22, 1942 to the late John West Cooper and Mary Ledford Cooper.

Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Cooper; daughter, Linda D. Cooper; daughter, Terri Cooper Davis; son, William D. Cooper; Grandchildren, John McCall, Tiffany Clements, Adam Davis, Max Cooper, and Caroline Cooper; six great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Cooper, Steve Cooper, Paul Cooper, and Wade Cooper.

 Bill spent his career as a business owner in commercial construction. His company was Waco Steel. Waco Steel built many of the skyscrapers in the Charlotte area and contributed to building the original Charlotte Coliseum. His company also built many structures throughout the southeast. Bill was a past president of the American Subcontractor Association, North Carolina chapter.

Bill was a lifelong golfer. Bill was a long-time resident of the Lake Norman area and was a member of the Neighborhood Church in Huntersville, NC. He enjoyed time on and around the lake with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 3:00pm at Williams Place Retirement Home in Davidson, NC. The family will receive friends afterwards from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
