William Hugh Mandos, Sr.

William “Bill” Hugh Mandos, 91, of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 12, 1931, the son of the late James and Florence Duerr Mandos. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Pelzer and Amelia Mandos; and brothers, Jim and George Mandos.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dahna Taylor Mandos; son, Billy Mandos; daughter, Cindee Mandos; stepdaughters, Deborah Steffen and Sheila Messick; granddaughters, Amanda Mandos, Mishay Edling, Aleese Mandos; grandson, Alek Mandos; step granddaughter, Hannah Messick; and great grandson, Jaxon Smith.

Bill was a US Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. He loved sports including golf, football, baseball, hockey, and especially basketball. As a young man, he enjoyed diving competitions. Bill loved volunteering for his local church projects and always loved traveling and seeing new places.

A funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 11:30 AM, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home of Huntersville. Interment, with military honors, will be at Salisbury National Cemetery at 2:00 PM following the service.
