William Dixon Maxfield, 91, of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully on April 6, 2017.
Mr Maxfield was born March 16, 1926 in Newark, NJ to the late William Diamond and Irma Diamond Maxfield. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, then worked for AT&T for many years. He was a Mason along with being a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and he volunteered for the Red Cross Disaster Services. He enjoyed wood working and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Keele of Cornelius, NC, son, Scott Perry Maxfield of Waxhaw, NC along with three grandsons, Eliot Keele, Drew Keele, and Taylor Maxfield.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Community Cemetery Colombarium.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte,1420 E. 7th St. Charlotte, NC 28092.
