Born in Mecklenburg County to the late John Holland Yandle and Gladys Wright Yandle, Bill attended Thomasboro High School and married his highschool sweetheart, Sarah Rose Smith, with whom he just celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary on July 17 of this year.
Bill's career started as a brick mason and completed as a construction superintendent. He was very talented in building cabinets, homes, schools, & churches.
He is survived by his children William (Billy) Yandle Jr. (son) and wife Angie, Debbie Lockler (daughter) and husband Steve, Leslie Hopper (daughter) and husband Eddie, Kelly McMurray (daughter) and husband Jay, Mildred Marion (sister), Nancy Elder (sister), Sandi Yandle (grandchild), Amy Stokes (grandchild), Cody Yandle (grandchild), Joseph Lockler (grandchild), Adam Lockler (grandchild), Cayce Hibbs (grandchild), Kaley Mills (grandchild), Marcus McMurray (grandchild), Bekka McMurray (grandchild), 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
God, family, and country were how Bill lived his life. He was always faithful to his church and completely devoted to Sarah and his children. Bill always made sure to set a good example. Affectionately known as "Paw Paw", he loved to laugh and have fun.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 30 at 1:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove UMC following the service.
