Carol Ann Scott

Carol Davis Scott, whose warmth and generosity touched countless lives, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the age of 82, at Atrium Health Lake Norman in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Born on April 19, 1944, in Concord, North Carolina, Carol was the daughter of the late Thurman and Margaret Rogers Davis, and sister to the late Linda Davis Sellers. In addition to her parents and sister, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John "Johnny" David Scott, Sr.

Carol was a beloved, devoted wife, mother, and Mawmaw. Her faith, family, and endless generosity were the heart of who she was. She'd show up with a meal for a neighbor in need or offer a helping hand to someone she'd just met, never asking for anything in return. Her grandchildren were, without question, the center of her world. She was devoted to "Baby Girl" and "Jackaroo" in every way a Mawmaw could be, and there was nothing she loved more than being part of their world. She never missed a chance to watch Jack play baseball, and she loved nothing more than a day spent shopping with Hannah, always on a mission, whether they needed something or not.

She took great pride in keeping her yard just right, and every holiday, her "goats" got dressed for the occasion, a tradition the whole Sherwood Forest neighborhood came to look forward to. She was always on the go and rarely slowed down, whether she was running errands, out shopping, or catching up with her "lunch bunch." She cherished family beach trips, especially with her lifelong friends Terry and Joyce Williams.

She is survived by her son, J. David Scott, Jr. and his wife Robbin Clark Scott; granddaughter, Hannah Leigh Scott; grandson; Jack Clarkson Scott; as well as her grandpups, Leo and Talulah.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville with Rev. Jimmy Howard officiating. Visitation will follow.

Our family wishes to thank the doctors and each staff member at Atrium Health Lake Norman and Levine Cancer Center at Huntersville for the exceptional care, dignity, and special attention provided to Carol and our family. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her, and we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace with the Lord.
